Black Box Exercise

"Black Box Exercise started in 1995, and the concept of Black Box Exercise is to enable each of the participating students to own a black box of his own, sized 30 x 30 x 30 cm; and then to create something inside the box for their expressions. Throughout this process, the students would learn about the black box, its materials, its physics and its limitations. Then, they would extend this microcosm of the black box to macrocosm of their schools and their environment in order to understand their structure, operations and system, and the relationship between themselves and their schools. With this extension, we can reach out into families, galleries/ museums, society and even the universe and the heavily bodies. As for the stage where hundreds of black boxes are gathered together for the exhibition, every individual student would come to realise the relationship between himself and the other participants, and the system around them. And when the exhibition move on to an international level for cultural exchange, the experience obtained by the students would be one which is cross region, cross culture, and cross civilisation." http://www.zuni.org.hk/zuni06/art_edu_bbe_e.html
